Hi!
I think my 8 year old, Pomerian mix, dog has a pinched or severed nerve in her back. Does anyone know of any home treatments, other than cage rest, for her? |

Vet visit would be my first course of action.

Hello, nice to meet you.
I have never experienced such a thing before, but if I were in your position, I would phone a vet. Vets can be costly, but a good vet will give you options for treatment, or at least steer you in the right direction and let you know if you should bring her in or not. Good luck, take care. |

Welcome to the board. I have to agree withthe others that vet advice is a must here. Your dog deserves an opinion from a professional before you decide on a treatment. Just guessing could do more harm than good. Please keep us posted.

She needs to see the Vet. It might not be a pinched nerve at all. And rest may not be the best thing either, at least not too strict rest. When my girl was diagnosed with spinal spondylois and invertebral disk disease my Vet said it was crucial, absolutely crucial, to keep up an exercise regime in order that msucle tone in the back was maintained to support her back. Please take her to your Vet. Swimming and chiropractic were also suggested for my girl but they cannot be suggested without the Vet's opinion. Also pain killers.
I did have a girl with a pinched nerve in her neck and she was in excruciating pain, she was screaming. Please, please, please take your girl to the Vet. |
