Sick Puppy

I have a 8month old shizpoo.
This all started monday, we went for our walk in the morning everythign was normal, brought him back home, and went to work. My daughter called later that day and said he had thrown up about 7 times. our daughter went out and after she left we had a huge thunder storm. when i arrived home from work the pup was shaking alot, he threw up a couple of more times and was very moppy.
today is Wed, (we have vet apt today) and he is the same, very moppy, sleeping all the time,, the only things that have changed in the last 2 days is now alot of eye discharge, he didnt do hi #2 business till late afternoon when he usally goes 3 times and now he urinates ALOT...

any suggestions on what it can be??

thanks

It could be many things and I'm glad you have a vet appt. today. If you can take a urine sample that would be a good idea and I would get a blood panel done. Good luck and keep us posted.

We though that maybe the thunder storm scared him, but he would have snapped out of this mood already.

Thanks and I will post tonight what was wrong with him after we see the vet.

Hi all,

well talked to vet this morning, his blood work is backa nd it is kidneys....
they say that they will not know though if it is juvenile (born with it) or acctue (got into something toxic) they are going to keep him another night on the IV and hope he gets better... He said that with kidneys its very hard to treat dogs,,,, either way if there is damage to the kidney he may not get better.... SO im hoping it was toxic and there is no damage....

I'm glad to hear that Skittlez has improved a bit! for even more improvement so he can come home tomorrow. We had a brush with leptospirosis here this winter--thankfully just mild symptoms and full recoveries!
