Too Cute LP, bless little Cuddles

The pups look like little squigglers.....now you have to find names for them all

Did she have them at home or at the Vets?

It all happened very, very fast. The first two were born in the car on the way to the vets, within a minute of each other. As soon as we arrived, she had the third and then was able to relax some between the rest of them.

I know, eh. We knew for sure 5. After the fifth was born, she was x-rayed and 2 more puppies were visible. I thought the vet tech was joking...I had to ask her, "for real?" several times . Once it was certain everyone was good and the puppies were eating well, we came back home. She's taking such amazing care of them all .

Aww sweet little soul, this will be her LAST litter. Glad she and her pups are all good. Bless her little soul, I wish I could adopted her but I have enough at this time.

She's eating well today. She had about 1/2 a can and a couple of handfuls of kibble last night, another 1/4 can around 5am and 1/2 a can about an hour ago. Only thing is, right now, she's only eating if I hand feed her while she's nursing so I offer her food every 2 hours. Same goes for water but I'm careful to offer her some every hour.

For sure, in a little while I'll post more. Although right now the pups are always eating so I don't want to disturb them. I'll try to take some of them individually when I weigh them again.

So far so good . We'll weigh them twice a day to make sure though.

No, he's got some brown spots on him. Some have small brown spots while others have more.

You know, I thought the worst of it for her would be the birthing. But watching her overnight and this morning, that was the easy part. Nursing and cleaning her pups takes so much out of her, it's non-stop. I don't know when she sleeps . There's nothing fun about watching a momma dog like her have to go through this at her age .

Hi lp....don't worry, cuddles is being a good mom. Just like human mom's with newborns...they sometimes have to be reminded to eat. It's normal for you to have to handfeed or remind her to eat. In a few days, she'll be comfortable enough to start to get up for a few minutes at a time and drink or eat.
I know she's finicky, but if she'll take it, you can try giving her a little beef bouillon to lap up. It will give her a little energy and help her out with feeding the pups.
Seems like she's eating ok to me. That both mom and pups are healthy and survived, is really an amazing thing. You obviously are doing something right...so don't worry so much!!
Take care.
Pat

The puppy pack at 5 days old. On the far left is the Hercules of the group; he's humongous! And right next to him is his little sister who was first born; she's the tiniest .

They are doing so well in your loving hands mf. Thank you for being there as always.
