Cat treats for cat who doesn't like conventional treats

Our maomao loves Friskies party mix. So far, it's the only "cat" treat she'll eat, though I haven't tried greenies yet. Since she doesn't get treats very often (maybe once or twice a week!!), I suppose she looks forward to it even more when she hears the bag crinkle.

But mukmuk doesn't eat any!! I'd like to have some treats that he might like so that I can do some basic training with him (know his name, limit his counter surfing to a certain spot, etc).

Does any one know of anything that is not a conventional cat treat that is safe for cats and that many cats enjoy? I read in the cat book Twisted Whiskers that cats enjoy brewers yeast tablets, but then I read (somewhere on the forum) that this poses as a common cat food allergen...?

Thanks for the suggestions I appreciate the help!

Some of the healthiest treats are the 100% freeze-dried meat ones. Look for something like PureBites, Halo Liv-a-Littles, Real Food Toppers or Benny Bully's.

I recently bought some Evo Wild Cravings cat treats (they're grain-free) and every cat I've given them to (mine, the ferals, my neighbour's cats) loved them. I used them recently to diffuse a tense situation between Aztec and a neighbour kitty. At least they're healthier than a lot of the other choices out there, Greenies and Temptations included.

Yes! I've tried some freeze dried ones... He ignores them...

I've also tried evo wild cravings to no avail. It just didn't appeal to him.

I know that chopped up bits of raw meat does appeal to him... but it's just not very convenient for something that needs to happen quick as during training. If it's the only thing that tempts him though, perhaps it's the best way to go...

Have you tried dropping a small sliver into his food dish? He may get the idea/taste for them if he "accidentally" eats a little slice with the rest of his dinner

Or if you are preparing raw meat for cooking your dinner, try dropping a tiny piece of raw meat for him, then drop a piece of the treat

Have you tried freeze dried salmon? Maybe it's the protein type he's not interested in?
