OH I forgot to mention that my nephew's dog had a seizure problem (older than Horton though, I think he was probably 2 when it started). They put him on the meds and he did seem drugged and it was pretty upsetting but in time they adjusted the meds and he seemed to adjust TO the meds as well. He's still on them I think. He hasn't had a seizure in over two years and he's his normal self. No drugged look, no personality change or anything !!

Adrianne, glad to hear he had a good night,I was kind of afraid to open this post..
I think all you can do is take the good with the bad and hope Horton will grow bigger and stronger, better able to fight this and tolerate the meds.
I am glad you got some sleep, better for you Judd and little Horton, hopefully you can enjoy Christmas with no problem.
You must be really pleased you have vets that are understanding and very supportive to help you fight for Horton.
to you and your little family!

MERRY CHRISTMAS FOR ALL OF US!!!!

I hope everyone's Christmas is wonderful!!!! Horton is doing fantastic! He stayed by himself for the first time yesterday and did SO good. He slept both times (we only left him for 2 hrs each time).

I hope you all stay warm (first off) and get everything you wanted from Santa!!!

Horton Update

I hope that you all had a wonderful holiday!

I'm afraid I don't have any good news. Horton had three seizures from 11pm to 11am this morning, even with the meds. He is at the vets tonight because we had to visit my family (6 hr drive roundtrip) today and I was afraid he would seize during the ride. We had planned to take him with us, but after our night with him, we decided to let the vet board him. We were trying to make it back before the vet closed and got stuck in traffic.

We are still hoping for the best, but it really isn't looking good. I'm beginning to wonder if I'm holding on just for me...because I love him so much.

We will be talking with the Vet in the morning again to see if there are anymore options, that we haven't tried.

Oh, Adriann...I was so hoping Horton was doing better. Don't give up hope yet, though--see what the vet recommends tomorrow.

for Horton and s for you and Judd

OH NO.....I am so sorry.

Since he has bounced back before maybe his meds just need adjusting.

Adriann, getting the right dosage is half the battle, but I can only imagine the heartbreak, seeing this little baby having a seizure
I still hope for a solution, that he will have a chance to get bigger and stronger and live a happy life with you and Judd

Wow, You sure do deserve a happy outcome for all you have been through in the last week or so.

Like Chico says, perhaps it is just a question of tweaking his meds. He is so tiny yet seems to have such a will. I really hope the vets have another rabbit in their hats when you talk to them today.

Please keep us posted

Just checking to see how Horton is doing. Praying for a miracle that with the proper dosage they can control the seizures, and Horton can enjoy being a puppy. Take care.
