btw, if you ever have a great relationship with your vet people and they let you go see your doggy right after surgery, I don't recommend going... It's kind of upsetting.

I've done that a couple of times and even sat through it entirely with one. It's easier once they are awake enough to know who you are.

I hope Jemma's recovery goes well. Will Mr. Prin be home to keep it moist for the next 10 days?

Awww no, it is never pleasant to see any animal (or any person) right after surgery. Sorry that Jemma has to stay overnight:sad:
Hoping for a speedy, incident free recovery

Aw, I hope Jemma feels better soon.

They used to sew buttons in the ears for hematomas (not sure the exact purpose ), Jemma should be glad they don't do that anymore!

Yeah, I hope Mr Prin will be home to take care of his little girl, especially tomorrow...

Makes me really wish I was still home sometimes though...

Yeah it is so hard to leave them. Weeks when I leave the dogs for a couple of days breaks my heart.

for you and Jemma.

Maybe the twefs can help with keeping the wound wet (aka slobbery)

Actually, I hope everyone respects Jemma's hurtfullness .

Hopefully cone heads are not required???

Jemma's going to the vet...again

After surgery, one of my dogs healed too quickly and had to have surgery a week later to open it up again. I guess she will have to be a cone head for awhile.
Poor girl, it must have been heartbreaking to hear her screaming.

I hope Jemma has a restful night. It must have been hard to see her right after she woke up. Good luck with her recovery. I know she will be OK

If it crinkles up, at least it's her mutt ear and not her "good" lab ear. It's already warpy to begin with, so it might not show.

No way is it going to crinkle up. Don't even think like that....Jemma is going to have a great recovery. Mr. Prin is going to be Dr. Prin for 10 days so that's all she needs.

Awww, poor Jemma, I didnt realize she would be spending the night. So hard and stressful for you this is, I understand.

I'm sure she will recover very well, Prin, and will heal just fine.
Daddy will surround her with the finest of TLC while you are away at work.

Best wishes to your sweetie Prin. Here's for you.... and for your dear girl too.

Gomez and his koala, wombat and kangaroo friends send Jemma some upside down licks and nose prints!

Hope she is feeling better soon!

She's ok. Sorry for the delay.

My man picked her up around noon and brought her to my work so I could get some hugs...

It looks so terrible... Apparently we don't have to keep it moist though because it was just blood. There's no infection at all, so they got all the blood out and that's that... She's got a sort of splinty thing on it that she already bent from shaking... So today, she learned "no shaking".

Ok, I have pics, but they're not for the faint of heart, so I'm warning you now and I'm posting them in the next post, ok?

So don't read past this if you don't like bleedy icky things.

How's she doing Prin? I hope her little ear is OK. I like the way her ear was all goofy looking, maybe it'll heal like that, it'll give her character (like she needs more of that!)

I'm glad she's ok.. And I'm glad she's got such a good daddy. And I'm glad she's a good girl and can be taught not to shake in a few minutes...

Aw, poor Jemma. She doesn't look happy about the ear thing or the camera! How long does she have to keep that foam thing on her ear?

I hope her ear heals up okay!
