Lightbulb Dog is Gagging

Our 12 year old Malamute/Husky got very sick and passed away after three weeks of vomiting. It started off by here making a gagging sound and vomiting clear fleamie liquid. The vet thought it might be a tumor. Her esphougas was enlarged and she developed lung problems during this time. The vet finally recommend that she be put down as she had lost so much weight and could no longer get up. We are broken-hearted.... Our problem now is we have a Year old Akita Male who has been gaggin for the last two days! He has thrown up once (clear white liquid) but mostley he sounds like he is choking/gagging. He was fine the thru Koot's illness (husky) We are taking him to the vet today but.... maybe someone can help?

Thank you.

It sounds like Kennel cough, which is highly contagious and is exactly how you described. Has the dog had it's Bordatella shot? Is this dog a rescue or from a pet store? Pet store and rescue dogs tend to get Kennel cough quite often because of the situations they are coming from (being around many other dogs).

Best check with the vet however!

Exclamation gagging

HI there!
In regards to the other reply you got, Kennel Cough is not life threatning in anyway. I am with your vet, it sounds more like a tumor. As for your second dog gagging see what your vet says. The bordetella vaccine is useless, it only covers 3% of the strains and bordetella or Kennel Cough is like you having a cold, it is nothing to worry about, obviously what your baby had was something more concerning. Good luck!
