Cat won't let me sleep

I have two female cats. They are both going to turn 5 years old this year. My oldest one (the first one that I got), I had her as a baby. The second one was a stray at my sister's house. I took her in when she was one year old (so I've had her for 4 years).
When I first took her in, she meowed ALL THE TIME. I got her recommended food by the vet and other things and now she only meows a few times a day (when I get home, when she's going up the steps, when she wants food/water). But it's been four years that she's constantly waking me up at night.
She used to meow at night, waking me up, but now she is kneading on my blankets (and/or on my skin) or she'll start eating my hair. I tried just putting her off my bed, but she just comes right back. I recently started locking her out of my room when she wakes me up, but then she meows outside of my room, waking up my parents.
I don't know what else to do so she stops waking me up. Any suggestions?

Welcome!
Maybe you could try to play with her before bed. Try getting a toy she like maybe a feather string type toy and get her to chase it. Maybe if she is more tired this will help.

The other thing to try is to give her a tablespoon of food before bed and see if that keeps her content...

Best of luck!

the cat laser thing gets them running fast as well - might tire kitty out.

Here'as an article that may help http://www.pets.ca/cats/tips/tip-43-...ssive-meowing/

good luck

If the above ideas don't help (but your cat will like them, Probably, anyway) an idea to try is laundry detergeant scented with orange or peppermint. A lot of scent isn't good for us but most cats don't like orange or pepperment. I have used both to keep cats off certain surfaces. No idea if it will work on linens but might be worth a try. If it does work you might be able to stop using it too, once the hair eating cycle is broken. Maybe.
