Tips with Boxer Shedding

Can anybody help me out here, I'm new to the Boxer Breed and was indicated they dont shed allot. My boxer pup is 6 months and he seems to be losing allot of hair right now... Can anyone give me tips or ways to help prevent this or is it just his Puppy Hairs falling out?

I have used the brush in the below photo on a dobey (similar coat type and shedding to boxers) and its amazing how much it helps. There is misconception that dogs with smooth short coats dont need to be brushed... but they do, because otherwise you end up with lots of little prickly hairs everywhere and on everything (and they hurt when they get stuck in your clothes!!)

These brushes really took a lot of the loose hair out (make sure to brush you doggy outside or be ready for a big mess of hair on the floor).

Thanks for the tip Masha, my manchester sheds too, looking for a grooming brush as well for short coats.

I would try the Furminater, I use it on Sasha and I love it. So does she, this is the only comb/brush/rubber or metal that truly does a good job and does not hurt your dog. patti

I was surprised how much Leo (dachshund) shed in the spring, he is shedding a little now (probably because most of the fur went in spring and now he is loosing the rest).
His belly went almost bald in the spring and I was starting to get worried! But after a few weeks it all started to come back in. I suggest the zoom-groom type brush as well, it is almost sticky so its good at grabbing stiff top coat fur, and can be easily washed and rejuvenated if it gets too oily from the skin. It could also double as a nice shower massager, I couldn't understand if a dog didn't enjoy this brush, it feels nice!
