why doent my cat hold it

my cat pooped to day and it was in the house. he never pooped on the floor befor. but he has diarheaa. what should i do

Hi there! Check for blood, he may have parasites.. My cat had them twice.. Just a round of medication and he was good as new.. Either that, or something didn't agree with his tummy and he just couldn't make it to the bathroom.. Just keep watch on it, and if it happens some more, take him to the vet..

You mentioned your cat pooped in the house... does he usually go outside to do his business?
Does he have a litter box in the house?
As you said, he had diahrea...if he goes outside, he may have eaten something bad. Did he do it again in the house?
How long have you had him, is this something new?
Perhaps a visit to the vet will rule out any other serious problem he may have...
When you do bring him to the vet, be sure to bring a stool sample so the vet can see if there is a serious problem, or just an upset digestive tract!
