They OWN us in different ways and thank God!

Honestly, I have no idea, but fixed cats don't usually mark their territory

My Shamu (RIP:sad used to pee on me occassionally. It was only in the middle of the night while I was sleeping. After the 5th or 6th time, I started crating her at night in a large dog crate with her bed at one end and her litter box at the other.
After awhile I let her have free range of the house again at night, but she did it again.
As it would turn out Wendellan, one of male cats, was terrorizing her at night, so she would come into our room and lay on our bed, and if she had to go potty, she was too afraid to go to the litterbox in fear that Wendell would attack her.
So I crated Wendell at night instead, no more problem.

I thought they 'marked' us with their scent when they rubbed their cheek against us?
I know dogs at the park who pee on people, but I have my own theories on that (relates to the owners lol, and is quite unprintable!)

Marking territory is different from marking property.. They mark the edges of their territory to notify other cats where their living space is, to warn other males, invite females..ect.. They don't pee on everything they own.. bit of a difference...
