dog barks at cars
I have a Red Lab that is 3 1/2 yrs old. When I get company he barks and when the company comes in the house he goes out and barks like a maniac at their vehicle. Or if we are outside when they come he will run up to their car barking and if I make him Sit, Stay he will just bark anyway and when released he will run right up to it barking and then pee on its tires. He will run right past the visitors to bark at their car. What can I do?

Enjoy the show?
Does he just bark for a little bit, then stop? Or does he keep on & on & on?

He barks and barks until we let the person in and start talking to them then he stops. But with the car every time he goes outside while it is here. He can come in the house, go back out, and start the barking again.

You could confine him in his crate until the visitors have gone.
You could also keep him on his leash, and lead him slowly to the car or truck, and occupy him with treats. When he tries to pee on the wheeles, tell him "NO" and snap the leash or pull him away. You would have to work long and hard at it , but hopfuly it would pay off . Good luck!!

Dog barks at cars
Here are some suggestions:
Sounds like you need to work on the leadership issue. Remember you are the leader so you need to reinforce the basic commands again if the dog is not listening. When you call your dog he MUST come. He MUST sit. He needs to relearn these commands. Make the rewards unbelievable for your dog and he should learn them. So when the truck comes divert the dog's attention through tasks and rewards. Let the people in the truck give the dog rewards upon their arrival so the dog may learn that the truck means rewards. Reward the ABSENCE of barking with praise and other good stuff. Definately get a leash length that prevents him from peeing or reaching the truck. The peeing doesn't seem to be important, it is the result of the behavioural conflict.
