muscle twitching near spine!
hello,
i've began to start noticing these bumps near my dog's spine. i was walking my dog one day, and a lady came up to him and randomly started to massage his spine ( i think she was a massage therapist and saw something wrong), as she put pressure along his spine all the way down, his muscles started to twitch. I could tell that he disliked it and it was somewhat painful. She was in a rush and left immediately after that and i couldn't get a chance to ask her what was happening. He's a 3 year old great dane. I don't know if its lack of exercise or a disease or something. Does anyone know what it could possibly be? Thank you |

muscle twitching
Has he been seen by a vet yet? Sounds like a check-up is in order.

I recently had my dog at the vet and he has had back problems (likely disc related), and the vet felt down his spine, and his muscles twitched. My vet has done that before when my dog has seemed to have trouble getting around, and says that it is a sure sign of pain. The vet gave him a pain reliever - an NSAID of some sort, and that helped tremendously. I was told to keep him quiet, and after a couple of days he was quite a bit better. So, in my experience, muscle twitching down the spine is indeed a sign of back pain, and should be seen by a vet.
Good luck, hope your pup is better soon... |
