Gobs of magical healing setter spittle winging it's way to you (have your umbrella handy for when it arrives ). The Pack has also been stumbling around with all their s crossed for luck! And do you know how hard it is to type with all hazel's ?

With all that and the coming in from every direction, how can Lukka help but get better?

You're both in our thoughts and prayers! Just two days and maybe you'll get some answers!

Thanks to everyone for all your support and well wishes for Lukka. She has read each and every post on this thread and already looks stronger.
I will update this thread after her appointment Monday morning and pass along whatever information the vet provides me with.
Thanks again

Well we're back from the vet. He gave us several options all of which we have talked about from day one and left it to me to decide which one to pursue next.
_______________________________________________

Option 1. Send her to Toronto to see a Neurologist.

This is not in my opinion going to achieve anything as I don't think this is a neurological disorder.
_______________________________________________

Option 2. Put her back under anesthetic and pursue the chemical burn findings of the other vet. (First time we took her our regular vet was off duty so we saw someone else, our regular vet doesn't think this is the reason for the jaw not opening though.)

If our other courses of treatment fail we might decide to go this route. But I think the vet that made this diagnosis just simply got a bit over zealous and said chemical burn when it was actually something not too serious at all. Lukka has been on two different drugs for the last ten days that would have cleared any soar areas in her mouth. Still doesn't explain why the jaw doesn't open though.
_______________________________________________

Option 3. Put her back under anesthetic and do a muscle biopsy of the temporal area and test it for MM.

The vet said this is such early stages that he doubts the tissue would show a change this soon. Something he advises on dogs that have been left for longer periods with this disease and have no ability to open the jaw at all.
She did have the blood work done on the first visit and it came back normal.
_______________________________________________

Option 4. Put her back under anesthetic and do a group of exrays of the jaw area.
If my chosen treatment doesn't give her any improvement I will be doing this next.
_______________________________________________

Option 5. Put her on Prednisone (which is the drug to treat MM) and have a recheck on Friday.
This is the option I chose to go with. Even without the biopsy my vet and I are both convinced this is MM, very early stages.
No one can say for sure how long it will take her jaw to regain it's ability to open freely, but I sure hope to see some changes real soon.
_______________________________________________

Thanks for all the support that Lukka and I have received. We are so lucky to have the members here to lift our spirits and make things easier to deal with. I thank you all.
The very moment I see Lukka has regained the ability to yawn and open her jaw like she used to, I will be yelling it from the rooftops and each of you will know she is getting better. (But I will post it here too)
