Stinky Feces

My one foster cat's feces is so stinky! She was dewormed before I got her and while I realize it's not meant to smell good, it smells up my whole house....

Does anyone have any suggestions on what I could try to improve this? I am feeding her Performatrin Adult food. Maybe I should try and gradually switch her to something else?

Be super vigilant poop picker-upper and get rid of it before the smell has a chance to get out of hand.

I would switch her to a grain free brand.

Maybe I will try the grain free. I scoop every time I realize that she has gone but unfortunately sometimes the smell is what advises me that she has gone. At that point, I scoop it immediately and put it outside.

Grain-free, preferably wet food, would be a good place to start. She might also benefit from some probiotics in her diet. It could be that her intestinal bacteria is outta whack. I prefer high-potency capsules that you get from the health food store (refrigerator section), since yogurt doesn't tend to contain enough of the beneficial bacteria. Plus, some cats have trouble handling cow dairy and you could end up making the issue worse (goat yogurt is less problematic, but it's also way more expensive and not all cats eat it willingly).

Coccidiosis can cause vile smelly feces. Take a fresh feces sample to your vet for examination.

Jasper and Sweet Pea used to have wicked smelling poops, but I find a carb free (no grains, no potato) canned (Nature's Variety, Instinct) mixed with raw did the trick. Now there is almost no smell.

I've found that stinky food equals stinky poop. The grains don't help either. Mind you I've found that since I switched to World's Best Kitty Litter, there's hardly any smell at all.
