Great idea, but

Aren't these a little pricey?

I don't think so, not for what you get. I bought the six variation and extra covers to mix and match. They're so pretty in my living room. Not like the hard steps. I have a set of those too, but they're so ugly and I'm sick of the bruises on my shins! This was the perfect solution. They're real quality too, you can tell by how they're made. My 3 year old neice even plays with them!
