Help ID and more goodies
Got a mystery plant. One stalk turned variegated. Hope it's not a weed because I sure have a lot of it!
Some bee balm just starting in a very neglected area. Some hardy geranium behind it.

I believe this one is called "Salmon Cream" but not sure because it came in a surprise pack and nothing was labeled. Bloom is almost 8 inches across. Buds are furry.
Another unk. Maybe LA Hybrid? I like the green center area. Good old lavender.

I posted my mystery plant picture to a university botanical garden and was told it is Saponaria officinalis, or Soapwort.

Ceara,I love Lavender, but every perennial one I've had dies, never comes back the next year
Your Lillies are just beautiful.. My Bee-Balm is really strange looking this year, some flowers are all pink, some are more of a purple color,it used to be red like yours, this is really strange

Interested to see the Soapwort when it flowers CearaQC.
The Lillies are gorgeous, in the first pic, I thought I had a fly on my screen ......my Bee Balm is not a happy camper this year and I so like it  CearaQC - do you want me to take the Tiger Lily Bulbils off of the stems or wait until they drop, let me know either way....Chris |

You don't like the pink and purple and just want red? All 3 colors here are separated a good bit from each other so I can save you seeds from the red if you like.

Umm for the tigers they just need to be nice and ripe. Since I've never even seen one of those in person before I can't say for 100%. I think they start dropping off when ready or sometimes even begin to sprout roots and leaves while still on the parent plant. Sure when the soapwort blooms I'll post it. Last year it was kind of a dark pink but I never knew what it was. And it flopped over due to heavy rain last year and wasn't nice looking at all. Came from another local gardener who gave me a bunch of perennial clumps that I knew nothing about. He didn't even know what he had. He just said here take this and this and that. Anyhow I'm willing to share everything with anyone. But prefer trades of course. It's more fun that way. If I have extra stuff I always give it away especially to those just starting new gardens and don't have much.

I've never noticed any of the bulbils sprouting while on the plant and the initial patch I have was here when we moved in, 25 years ago......I think I will wait until they drop, they are easy to gather.
They just drop and send down a single thin root, then next year I get one small leaf, I actually pull them up by the dozens but I get so many. I have one Day Lily I am waiting for, I bought it last year with one flower stem, this year it has three, so pretty though, it is called Strawberry something Regarding the bulbils, pm me your addy and I will send some in the next couple of weeks, they will start to drop anytime now......on some of the stems I have, there are over 20 buds and oh so easy |

I think it's the Munstead type. I will do my best and try to start some cuttings after I harvest the buds. If it works I'll send you a few.

No clue about the double-decker Hazel. Still new to me. Will keep an eye on it and see how it develops. The red came from a clump that another gardener locally gave to me. So I don't know it's history or whether it's a species type or hybrid. If it ends up a species, the seeds will come true.

Here's a pic of my soapwort in bloom. Unfortunately the camera was focused on the lily.

I've noticed it has grown quite a bit but that clump is probably 3 years old now. Mine was a darker pink.
