Mousse
Mousse does a lot of climbing these days, furiously sharpens his (non-existant) claws on every conceivable surface and even has the occasional attack of the zoomies. He now meets me at the door and if one of the other cats goes into his crate - usually looking for food - he comes to wherever I am and soundlessly complains.
He's packed on quite a bit of weight in the torso but his legs are as spindly as ever. He still takes half a prednisolone every day. |

Hi BAdger, I seen some cats that you've brought in and some needed a bath...can you recommend how I go about washing a kitten...her claws are very very sharp.....and what soap do you use. SHe has a very fine oil gray dirt and I really need the soap.

The last time I bathed a cat, I broke a rib! So maybe I'm not the one to ask. I don't have much of a track record anyway, maybe four or five times over the past ten years. In those cases I used a mild dog and cat shampoo that I got from the pet store.
Just remember to run the water in the bathtub first and then bring the cat in - the sound of running water scares them - and don't make it too deep, just up to his belly. Only bathe him from the neck down. Use a washcloth to do his head, separately. Have everything on hand so you don't prolong the experience. And if you use soap, rinse several times; you don't want any residue on his skin. It may go more smoothly if you have another pair of hands Last edited by badger; February 9th, 2009 at 08:41 PM. |
