Epilepsy caused memory loss.

My dachshund suffers from epileptic fits.
He had eight seizures over two days.
He is now fine but has lost his memory. He is a one man dog, staying with me at all times, but now he has latched onto a lady who stays on my property,
never leaving her out of his sight.
Being over weight, he gets prescription diet pellets which he can never get enough of. Now he will not touch the stuff. He also appears restless.
Has anyone else had a similar experience and is his present state likely
to be permanent????
