Unhappy dog does her business in her Diaper but not outside

Our 11/2 year old Shih Tzu is just finishing her "heat" (week 2 1/2) and we are having to retrain her to do her buisiness outside is this a common problem? This is her 2nd time we are going to have her fixed but have to wait till she's done....I'm wondering if this is a common thing? She will go if she gets excited at the drop of a hat but just little squirts at a time....and when you put her out she just won't go....

You could try putting her on a regular scedual to go out. Take her out regularily, but when she doesn't go, put her in her crate to prevent an accident in the house. Keep taking her out on a regular scedual, and if she does mess up in the house, put the mess outside which will also help her want to go outside. Don't clean the mess up while she's watching; I've heard it can stimulate them to mess in the house even more. When she does do her buisness outside, give her lots of praise and maybe treats.

Do you have her trained to go to the bathroom in one place outside?

Have you asked your vet about spaying here while in heat?

My cat came into heat a week before she was to be spayed.I called to let them know. They said no problem, they can still do it.The surgery took a bit longer and was an extra $25.That was a year and a half ago....She's fine.

when i was training for outside I always went out with them for however long it took and when they went they got the praise then and there. They thought they were the smartest dogs cause they went poop outside lol!
Go outside play with the girl and hopefully she will go.
