Overdue pregnant cat?

My wife and I have a year and a half old pregnant cat, it seems that she's been pregnant an awfly long time and my wife seems to think that we're gonna have to take her to the vet for a c-section. Am I crazy for almost giving in on this or could her suspicion be true that our cat will not be able to give labour to these kittens. Anyone who has any info on this I would greatly appreciate it before I start forking out $.

cat gestation

58-65 days is the average gestation period for a cat.

If it`s been longer than that than a vet visit is a must.

The key here is to know EXACTLY how long she has been pregnant.

You are getting ahead of your self on the c-section though, maybe the cat can be induced, maybe a lot of things...this is just speculation.

But if the cat does for whatever reason need a c-section, then you should be prepared to fork out the cash 100%
Cat`s are not disposable...they are family treasures...and you choose to get the cat...the cat has given your family much joy, and now if she needs your help do the right thing.

Good luck,

Batcat

Thanks for your input batcat, no need to lecture me on the right thing to do though. I'm paying for my little girls education and if it boils down to me paying for that or paying to avoid letting nature takes its course, well my daughter will get my money. Sorry if that upsets anyone but on a lighter note my cat had her kittens on sunday(all 5 of them) and they're all healthy.

thanks
