Kitty Crack...thats too cute! Ya it's that Cosmic Catnip, as my cats will have no other....Kitty Crack Connoisseurs they are . I find it much cheaper to buy the big one too, it's about $13-15 and they want $4-6 for those little ones. It's about 3-4x the size.

It worries me though, I hope they dont stop my 60 yr old father in customs on suspician of it actually being drugs!!

Oh I'm sorry kind of , but that just reminded me of the scene in Shrek 2 where Puss in Boots is found with a baggy of catnip and he denies it being his as they cart him away. LOL.

re catnip

catnip grows wild in my front yard the side where only weeds grow, I have lots of feral and displaced cats feedingf on my front porch i don't know where the catrnip came from but it grows in my yard maybe that is hy the cats come I have seen kittens get high off it and run in the road and get killed so I think it is dangerous I whack it down it takes away their caution instincts

I threw out our bag of cat nip recently. I don't mind it for some cats that just rub on it and roll around, but we had a kitten get into it and GAWD, he went crazy! He's still tiny (was orphaned and I have no idea how old he is exactly) and he was jumping off of a 4' wall! So enough was enough.

Catnip

When we first introduced the grown cats (Garfeild and Speedy) to the pug(Max), we thought about putting some catnip on the dog. But my two guys are like mean drunks when they get into the catnip..they beat each other up. And well, the the poor dog wouldn't stand a chance!!!!

Scully has catnip and she rolls on it and eat it.
I put the catnip on top of her scratching post (it has a surface on top for cats to lie on) and she eats it and then rubs her face on the left overs and rolls on it.
I tried a different brand (that I loved the smell btw) but it's minty and she didn't like it. I tried one that has a more herbal smell and fresher and she LOVES it.

I'd like to know if catnip has other properties beneficial to cat's health. I've heard something about it but I'd like to know better.

anyone tried Valerian for their cats?

it has similar effects as catnip and honeysuckle does with cats.

the health benefits of catnip for cats is that it relieves stress and nervousness. It can also be brewed as a tea to bathe and relieve itchy skin.

That's interesting. Bathe for itchy skin. Thanks :3
I've also heard about catnip tea for humans but I don't know what for.

I haven't tried valerian on cats but I've tried it on myself and at home with my parents sometimes they have valerian tea. Helps to sleep and relax I've heard. Didn't know it was used on cats as well.
I wonder if the smell is alluring for them.

it is amazing how many uses some herbs have.

take catnip........... actions: Carminative, anti-spasmodic, diaphoretic, sedative and an astringent!

uses for treating..colds and flus...stomach upsets, flatulance and colic.........to treat diarrhea.......it has a sedative action on the nerves...and oh so much more!

even has nutritional value...... calcium, chromium, iron, magnesium and more!

every herb that grows is usefull in many ways.

My cats don't react to catnip but go CRAZY for Valerian root.. Like actually they go crazy, like they would murder me to get that essential oil crazy..

So after that happened twice I now locked that essential oil in a metal box and then locked that box in a closet. They ain't touching that
