Scabs all over body

We have two, 3 year old pekenese dogs. One has sores and scabs all over her body. They contain pus and are long and look similar to their toe nails. You cannot pet her without touching her sores.

Only the one dog has these sores.

When she was 1 year old she had about 5 removed by lazer or by surgery.

Last year whe had about 12 such sores. The vet again removed them again and cost about $541.00.

Now she has about double that much. I know she is uncomfortable as she scratches them and they pus or bleed.

The vet admitted not knowing much about these sores.

My question is what is causing this?
Is she lacking something in her food, or is it an allery?
Is there a cream or something that could be applied to them or is there a remedy other than surgery?

Please Help me! Has anyone out there seen this before?

She is such a sweetheart, sleeps allot, very quiet and loves cuddling.

Please help me make her feel and look better.

i think you should probably seek a second opinion if your vet doesnt know squat about it!
