Princess Stinky-bottom

Hey guys, quick question: Boo is a bit of a stinky pants. I keep her fur around her backside trimmed, so there's no poo getting into it, but she still always smells like poo around her backside. Not so much fun when you consider she sleeps on the pillow beside my head. And as you can imagine, we're both not fond of me washing her bottom every few days. She just doesn't seem to bathe that part of her! I've seen her washing every other part of herself, but not her butt. Is there a way I can get her to start doing that? Or, alternatively, is there some kind of baby wipe that I could use safely on her rear to help eliminate that odor without the mutual trauma of butt-bathing? I know Gizmo went through a brief phase where he didn't wash his rear, but a few midnight bottom baths seem to have cured him of that. I don't even have to trim his fur, he keeps himself so neatly groomed. Any advice would be greatly appreciated by us both.

cat wipes

hi

I have the same problem with my boy Gino, but in his case, it's because he is long hair and cannot always ''manage himself''. I do keep his bum bum shaved to help him.
I believe there are specific wipes for cats that can be used to clean their faces, Perhaps they also make some for cleaning their bum bums... or maybe you can use the ones for the face on the bum bum.
Any pet product store should have them, and I'm sure they could inform you about the best kind of wipes to get.
I would AVOID using regular baby wipes that are made for human babies, as they may not be appropriate for cats.

hope this helps!

thanks sugarcatmom!

I will keep this product in mind next time my boy Gino gets a bit smelly, as if he will let me wipe him...well that's another story!

that's awesome, guys, thanks! changing her diet a bit seems to have helped a little as well. I've been feeding soulistic brand foods, since Gizmo got really bored with the canned wellness, and eats this stuff up. as long as I stick to the chicken or chicken and pumpkin, she's less gassy, and the poo odors don't seem to be clinging to her fur as much. I guess she doesn't tolerate fish well? I dunno, but the wipes will help a lot!
