Some of my garden pics
Well thought I would post some of my pics
My hosta, not sure what variety, I can't keep any leaves on any of them Then there is my lovely rose bush, with the huge red blooms, none at the moment though And finally my yew, very well manicured, I must say.

I have help with my pruning of the above by these guys
They are about 75 feet away as they scurry into the woods.

This little one hesitated and wanted to go for the garden before he saw me and decided to follow his sibling and momma
Here is the evidence, there are tiny hoof prints all over my garden Not clear in the pic, but trust me, they were doing a dance all over.

I feel your pain! We have the same garden munchers here. The gardens inside the fence are safer (but still have to contend with rascally rabbits)...everything outside the fence is subject to pruning.
I hope your rose recovers! Experience leads me to believe both the hostas and the yew will live to fill out a bit in future, though the yew may be slightly asymmetrical... You sure do have a cute herd! Our does come to the fence to watch the dogs, but the fawns are still shy and we've seen very little of the precious darlin's.

Doesn't matter about my plants, they will recover, well except maybe the yew, but it is replaceable.
The babies were born in our neighbours back yard, he was up early one morning and watched as momma was eating the umbilical cord and baby was lying on the ground.

Funny, we have deer here too and never have had an issue with the plants. Strange. Maybe has something to do with a couple of doggies running lose most of the time at the tenants place.
Have you tried human urine around the gardens? |

No I haven't. This was the first year I had an issue with deer so I wasn't expecting this at all. It must be one of the babies because one hosta was right beside my front step and the adult deer never come that close.

Awwww deer! How cute.
I love deer too and hardly get to see them. Elusive things. But then again we have a coyote problem locally. I'll try to find you a list of plants that deer won't touch. If you have room, they LOVE Kale. We planted some for them before near the forest edge and they devoured it all. http://njaes.rutgers.edu/deerresistance/ http://www.hardygardening.com/DEER_R...GARDENING.html

Yes!
It's excellent people food too! Doesn't taste like much really but is extra good for you, packed with lots of nutrients. I use it in fillings for cannelloni noodles along with the ricotta cheese. There's an old saying from a couple hundred years ago, that if a doctor walked by a home and saw kale growing in the garden, he should keep walking because his services wouldn't be needed there.
