Smile Looking for a good golden retriever Breeder....

Hi,
We just moved into a new home with a large back yard and decided it's time for that puppy. We have young children and have been told Golden retrievers are a good breed. We live in the Niagara Falls Canada area. Can anyone help us find a good breeder close to our home?

HI! Someone on this board - Goldenmom - is very involved with GRs, and should be able to help you.

Have you had dogs/puppies before? This is a very high energy breed, that needs tons of exercise and obedience training, and remains energetic well into adulthood.

Like any dog, they need to be supervised with small kids and need lots of attention to be a good family dog.

If you have already researched and know all this - sorry!!

You also have to realize that when you go to a licenced responsible breeder, you are put on a waiting list before she is bred. There are many Licenced breeders in Ont.

Have you considered rescuing one?

Wink

I guess I should also mention....my husband grew up on a farm and his family rescued many animals over the years. I would rescue an animal, I have been checking the SPCA through a friend whom is an agent in the area. I'm weighing all options.

Hi, Goldenmom here!

How old of a golden were you thinking. I know of a 5-yr old Male looking for a home.

goldens

I hope you find a match made in heaven for a golden rescue and your family. If you have done rescues before you know rescues are absolutely the best dogs you could ever own. Good Luck
