Question kitten losing fur

My 4 month old kitten has a big lump of fur missing from his back which he keeps trying to scratch. I dont know how it happened. We bandaged it up, put some cream under the bandage so he cant scratch any more. Otherwise he seems perfectly healthy, eating, sleeping and playing as normal. Do you think it will heal up by itself or should i bring him to the vet?

I'd call the vet to see what s/he thinks. The kitty may have been hurt there, it could be stress or a skin condition. I'd think the vet will tell you if you describe it. (Personally, I'd take the cat in to see the vet just to be sure). Even if it heals, there could be an underlying internal problem.
