Raising money for SPCA

I'm looking for ways to raise money for the local humane society by selling things that I can make. Right now, I havn't thought of too many, but these are the ones I have thought of.

Making dishcloths
Making little bug fridge magnets
Selling iced tea

Any other ways? I want to save up money and present it to the Shelter at Thanksgiving, or even Christmas.

Great for you spoiled!

Think of things people would want to buy. Where you going to sell this stuff? Gotta think of the market...people don't really buy dish cloths and things that much anymore.

People buy things that they want to use 'now' so think of something summery! Like maybe bandana's or belts, neat little purses and things, garden signs etc...

If you're gonna crochet this stuff get people to donate some wool to you and tell them what you're doing with yur earnings.

Go to your local Humane Society/SPCA and ask to talk to the fund raiser or someone on the board, they all have one. They have great ideas always and may have a special project in mind for you to work on. Food and money donations are always welcome & very much needed. Maybe you can coordinate with the board and make a big fuss!
One time at the Humane Society I worked for, someone had a urge for a poker run...we had two weeks to plan...250 "donor" cycles and 150 miles later we had a $5000.00 check in the bank account for our kids.
The top off was a big BBQ with a live band..all donated...the awareness and free media play brought in many new parents for fur kids awaiting homes...

Energy....give your energy..you have it obviously...talk to them.

Wow, that sounds amazing! I'll think about it, although I'm not sure about organizing something quite that big!

Any organization can always use extra hands and feet, you do not have to do this yourself, sign up as a volunteer or offer your own ideas...go talk to them..any shelter is more than just a "housing" facility for animals. Very few people behind the scenes are even on the payroll..they rely on people like you with spirit to keep things going...feeding, medical care and finding homes, just to name a few...there is so much involved.
Get involved with them....you already have what it takes to make a difference.

I'm too young to volunteer, so when I emailed the shelter they said that people sometimes sell iced tea in the summer, and that gave me an idea. Thanks for the ideas.

People are rightfully concerned about drinking / eating anything that isn't sealed.

Another thing you could do Spoiled is ask in your neighbourhood for people to donate blankets and things that you can take to them They always need blankies!

Thats true about eating and drinking stuff that isn't sealed. And fundraising like going around to people's houses is kind of suspicious, to. Sometimes evil people say their raising money for an organization, and keep it themself.

Just a thought, but I've seen recipes for dog treats that you can bake yourself. Could have a bake sale at a local dog park? Although you might have to hire some security to keep the poochies in line so they don't go nuts over the cookies. Hmm, maybe that isn't such a good venue come to think of it. Well, you could bring samples to give out and take orders for more?

Another thing,if your mom has a perennial garden like me,that grows bigger every year, maybe she can split some and you can sell them for at least $2 a piece.I split mine every year and give them to friends..something like(you would probably not know, but your mom might)purple Cone-flowers,Black-eyed susans,Hostas etc...A lady down the street from me has a sale every year, because those plants spread and she always sell them all, especially this time of year.

Hey, good idea about dog cookies! I know how to root plants in water, so I'll make some extra plants and sell them! No, we aren't much of "garden people" although I'm going to grow strawberries and carrots this year, and maybe flowers. I could sell bachelor buttons, I suppose.
