please help!!!
I need some help with my 1-year-old cat, BB. I just changed her cat sand from paper sand to bean curd sand. She has no problem adapting to the new kind of sand but she enjoys it too much she sometimes eat from the litter box!!! I don't know what to do but I am really worried because bean curd sand clumps when it's wet...i worried the sand she ingested might clump inside her stomach or colon. Is there anyway I can change her habit? THanks.

i would suggest switching the litter back to the one the cat wasn't eating.

I would get rid of the bean curd litter immediately, it can cause blockages in the intestinal track if it clumps.
Why would you not go back to the paper sand if you didn't have any problems with it???

I agree with the above posters. I would go back the litter that your cat was originally used to. Eating litter can cause some serious problems in both cats and dogs.

I answered you in the other thread you posted about this and said the exact same thing as everyone here.

i guess i should change back to the old litter...it's just that the beam curd one has better clumping and odor absorping power...

I tried something similar (natural grain). It's very scoopable & clumpable, the odor control is pretty good. However, I had this one pack that was full of wood eating insects. I didn't know until I found insects clawing on my bedside table and on my floor and I had to find pest control people to do my room!!! I had to move away for 2 weeks because I worried my cats might lick the pesticide and die...I am totally afraid of natural grain sand now....
I found this really nice paper sand that's very small in size but it's really expensive when compared to other paper sand...still thinking if i should change to that.... thanks everyone...luckily I found 1 last bag of paper sand in my closet and now I have switched back to the old kind...

I bought a new brand of paper sand that's cheaper than the "nice kind with dried bits of flower paddle". The new kind is blueish in color and very small in size. It's called "Pure Blue". Wonder if it's a good one...hehe

The bugs wasn't in the litter (though that would be even worst!!!). I bought another extra 2 bags and put it in one of my spare drawers and later I found bugs clawing outside the door!!! I found out later that the pet shop where I bought the extra bags had the same problem!!! YUK YUK YUK!!!!

I also had that problem once with the wheat litter, I bought a smaller single use box type one to let a friend try it, but left it at the front door for a few hours, later that night we found larvae climbing up the wall and all over the back of the door! They were weevil larvae from improperly stored wheat. The store took it all back and the big bags I bought were all fine, just all the box style ones were 'tainted'.
