hope to adopt small puppy

Hello all. Well after thinking about it for about a year we are finally wanting to get a small dog. We are in an apartment in TORONTO, but have a very large park directly beside us. I work part time.

We love some of the mix-small breeds (chi, yorkie, muts!) and was wondering if anyone knows of a little guy who needs a new home!

Best places to check are petfinder.com, humane society, any of the local rescues or shelters. Never, Never a petstore. You should not have to much of a problem finding a great dog needing a home. Also consider getting a little older dog they are usually trained, and you don't have as much work you still need to work with them but it is a lot easier. Good luck

I have a cat

The pomchi is so cute, but doesnt like cats. I have one. She likes (tolerates?) dogs.

I also have children (over 12) who are very good with dogs. I am considering an IG or small poodle/yorkie or some mix like that.

Thanks for your help all!

Couple reasons for that. One is that these dogs are being bred and dumped in record numbers by irresponsible idiots, punks and morons who thought they would make a few bucks (they don't). The other is that people don't bother learning anything about them, and when the puppy matures and gets aggressive to the other dog(s) in the home, it is dumped instead of being properly managed and kept.

I have a pit bull and she is simply wonderful with everyone, and with all my cats.

The kind of dogs you are looking for are not that easy to find - particularly if you want a young dog. Tiny poodles, Chis etc are usually adopted right away, if they even make it into a shelter. I doubt you will find an IG and they are very fragile and nervous.

You might contact Canadian Yorkshire and small breed Rescue - they take all kinds of small dogs.
What about Milo?
