She is beautiful .... looks more like a white dove than a pigeon. Does she have more grey markings on her back?

Rita,no other than the grey you see,she is all white,I don't think she's a dove, she hangs out with the rest of the pigeons and I have them in all colors.Doves are usually more slender and smaller..
I am a bit of a bird-nut,among other nuts always have my binoculars ready and near and read up on any new bird I hear or see,Love them

I'm a bit of a bird nut too
I love taking pictures of the cardinals that come to my feeders as well as the many finches and mourning doves. Apparently some of our neighbours have seen some sort of hawk or falcon in our area in the past couple of weeks, but I haven't seen it .... but I have seen the evidence of it's presence ... lots of feathers on the ground

Rita,we have big hawks coming here for lunch every day in the winter, often they take pigeons, the smaller Kestrel takes the smaller birds.
I am always in awe over the beauty of the hawks, unfortunately they have to kill to eat,but that's the way of nature, right!

Pigeons are great! I used to have one as a pet when I was a kid. It (dunno if it was a boy or a girl) used to go flying around the neighborhood and then come back to spend the day walking around the house.

I never had a pet pigeon after that one, but I always leave food for the neighborhood birds on my balcony. They even come inside and steal Leon's kibble!

And just to vent a little, a guy at the park today, obviously a hunter, allowed his hound to catch a sick sleeping pigeon. He was watching closely and taking extreme pride in it, as if the game was a wild boar or something. And he asked me very seriously not to let my dog interrupt the "hunt". I was disturbed at how stupid people can be.

Poor pigeon, hopefully it had a quick death..it's amazing how many yerks there is out there.
Before I take my cats outside I always check for any sick or wounded birds,in this heat, birds get exhausted and weaker..easy catch for any cat/dog.

It is a beauty. Didn't realize they came in so many wonderful colours until one time I watched a group congregate around some spilt corn on a farm. It is easy to confuse them with doves though and I've actually seen an auburn colour close to the dove.
