crying in car

I hope I'm doin this right. Why does my 2 yr old yorky cross cry and whine when in the car. I talk to him I sing to him He has his own car seat. I'm confused

try putting a t-shirt on him. it helps calm them, just like you would wrap a baby in a blanket. just make sure it is small enough or even a doggie coat that fits him. Believe me it helps.

talking to him and singing is giving attention, which can actually be encouraging the behavior. he also may be whining as a way of "talking" or "singing" back to you. stop the talking and singing and see if it helps. then try to teach a QUIET command. give a small treat and praise when he does stop whining when you give the command. practice the command at home also.
