Neck Biting?!

So I have two young female cats. Willow is a tall, lanky polydactyl of about a year, and Scully is a short, little pudgy, tripod, about 9 months. I adopted them from separate homes about 2 months ago, and they usually get along quite well despite the vast difference in their size and abilities.
They often groom each other, play, cuddle but then sometimes they....... wrestle. I mean, what they do is wrap their arms around each other like a massive hug, maybe kick a little....then bite each others neck! Sometimes it looks like they are doing it hard but they don't cry out or anything! Is this some kind of weird cat affection?!

No weirdness there, it's perfectly normal cat play.

You should see it around my place! Especially when Mittens (12.5 lbs) goes after TT who is half his size at 6.6. Pretty scary. You would think they are going to rip each other's throats out. But it's normal. If it gets too rough I break it up by clapping. Doesn't take long before they are at it again.

i agree its very normal for cats to play like that all mine do it.
14+ i know what you mean stormy (5.5 pounds) will go after eclipse (16.5) pounds and start playing with him before i know he has her pinned. trouble is she will squeak and i have to yell to get him off her when she's the one that starts it but yes they do a lot of back kicking and neck biting stormy does that to serena all the time

Perfectly normal, but if you see fur flying, hissing, yowling, fur standing on end----that's fighting. Clap your hands or stamp your feet with a stern "No fighting!"

One day, Ill try and post a video of my cats play fighting. (IF I can figure out how to make it the right form.) If you don't realize that it's just play you would think they were killing each other, ferocious kicks, vicious looking neck bites, and yet when it's over they curl up and wash each other.
