Daisy's Story - Possible Brain Tumor
Just looking for anyone who might have had a similar scenario...but I doubt it. Just recently had to put down our 10 year old Australian Terrier due to possible brain tumor. Here's the long history starting with her brother Digger. Digger had 2 bladder stone surgeries and a calcified disk before he suddenly died at the kennel while we were on vacation. The kennel said he was seizing and died when they went to check on him. He was 8. Daisy was a healthy dog except for a near death experience with one of her rabies shots. She stopped breathing and with oxygen and whatever they gave her a shot of, came back to life. Had a physical about 4 months ago and noticed knees were creaky and she now had a heart murmur. One month after that she had her first seizure on Canada Day. Was hoping it was because of the fireworks as they have always scared her. Anyway, took her to the vet 2 1/2 months ago because she seemed to be straining when she was peeing. Tests came back with bladder infection. Went on antibiotics and seemed to be getting better. Then she stopped jumping & running and took her back. They found tender spots on her spine and precribed medicine for pain and inflammation. Still seemed very uncomfortable. Was breathing very rapidly in the middle of the night. Took her in the next day...they did more blood work and an x-ray. We also noticed at this time that one pupil was smaller than the other. Checked the other vets notes and nothing was noticed before. Did the cotton ball test and her vision seemed fine. X-ray revealed a very large stone in her bladder. She had surgery to remove the stone. Everything went well. The day after she was home I noticed her vision was getting worse. She went back to the vet for a follow-up after surgery and we did the cotton ball test again. Her vision was definitely worse and her pupil still different from the other. In two days she was completely blind. As a family we started making adjustments in the house. Just figured it was coincidence that she probably had been going blind all along. I noticed a year ago she was getting night blind. She was getting braver about walking around and was adjusting to her new world. Then I noticed she was squinting and took her back to the vet for a scratched cornea. The vet noticed a head tilt but I wrote it off because of the pain in her eye. It was quite a big scratch. The vet also noted that she didn't have much feeling in the left side of her eye/muzzle area where she had scratched the eye. She was sent home with eye drops and she wanted me to make an appointment for follow-up the next day. She probably knew there was something seriously wrong but didn't say anything. In the middle of the night I took Daisy outside for a pee. She was very restless and I didn't want her walking off the edge of the bed. When I took her out she started walking in little tiny circles. She was walking like she was drunk as well, head still tilted. By the morning she was getting worse and worse. I don't think she could hear very well either. Her other eye was starting to glaze over as well and she wasn't able to blink. We decided to put her down at that follow-up appointment. There. I feeling better! Sorry for being so long-winded. Just want some answers. Didn't do an autopsy. I guess we should have. Instead we took her home and buried Daisy beside her brother Digger. RIP my favourite puppies

Some of the symptoms you described sound very much like vestibular disease. (walking like a drunk , head tilt , not being able to blink) but she had so many other symptoms ... it's very hard to tell.
