Fish bones???
Can i feed my dogs raw fish with the bones in it???? They are rainbow trout.

yeah my guy wont eat most fish either... he is very picky... he wont even eat duck..

Brina won't touch fish either, I even tried salmon oil from a capsule in 3 cups of dog food, she smelled it and walked away....geeesh

Dogs that don't eat fish are dogs that simply don't know that you are presenting them with a food source.
I can tell you this much, I've never known a hungry dog to starve itself.

zoe gets a whole fish, innards and all when my neighbour goes fishing, so maybe twice a month, she loves it. I just have to make sure she doesn't do the roll on it before eating it.....stinky

I personally wouldn't give a dog fish bones. The meat and the innards, yes, but not the bones.
Fish have small bones and are more suited to cats, IMO. My dogs have always eaten too fast for me to give them small bones like in fish. For me, it reduces the chances of choking, and I split animal parts between the cats and dogs. I also don't give the dogs shrimp shells because the tails are sharp. But if you're not having any issues, then I guess you're dog is good at handling fish bones. |
