I'm so nervous

I'm boarding my furbaby for 3 days while I go away, I've done doggie day care with this company before and i know he's in good hands, but I'm just so nervous about leaving him . I've never been without him for more then a day...I think im more freaked out then he will be. Have any of you guys felt like this or am I just crazy?

I am helping out at a boarding facility, and believe me you are not the only one who feels like that, we have many clients feeling bad about boarding. But when they see their dog not wanting to leave, it makes them feel so much better about it.

My walkingcompanion,Bailey, LOVES the boarding-kennel,she gets lots of attention, gets to play with other dogs etc...at home she spends her days alone in the kitchen, except when I take her for a walk.
But of course you would fret, you are leaving your baby in somebody elses hands..
My son stays with my cats when we go away and I fret weeks before we leave, although I know they will have a good time with him,so you are "normal"

Sometimes I wish I could find a boarding kennel that I KNOW my boys would be okay in....the last 2 experiences have NOT been good ones.

My 2 go to the same boarding kennel that's owned and operated by their vet (and they go for grooming). The first time I left them there for an extended stay, I lost it...felt like the worst dog mom ever. However, I picked them up 5 days later and on top of being bathed, they came home happy, and I daresay slightly depressed to be back with me instead of there It never gets easy, but you do get somewhat used to it

I think the most important thing to ease your mind,is to research, ask friends with dogs, check out where the dog will stay.
Is it clean?Do they have a good size play-area?
Toys? Friendly staff?
My vet kennels dogs, not a place I would board my dog,if I had one!
Like everything else in life, there are good and bad places. Good Luck!

Hubby and I will be going away for a night in August. It will be the first time we have ever left the pack in a boarding facility. We are leaving them in a spa actually. Web cam in the suite, menu's to choose from, swimming lessons if desired, tucked in each night with a cookie. Sounds like heaven eh?
The problem is Soozie. She spent 3 months in an SPCA and is a bit crazy when in a situation like that. They will be in a suite all together so I hope that is a comfort to her. We are only going overnight because next year we hope to go for a week and want to see how she will do.

lol I'm glad he was happy...

I tell you, I can't even do it yet. If my doggies can't come, I can't go.. I just don't trust anybody enough to leave my babies with them... I'd be calling every 10 minutes.

That's how we are as well. My BF's relatives from Chicago were here last week and they invited us to come visit in the fall, but we can't bring odin with us. I don't think we will go then, unless one of his many cousins who also live in the city will let us stay with Odin there.
