Talking When winter ends and spring begins with the foxes...

I visited a friend's place about a week ago, and took the opportunity to bring my DSLR camera and snap some shots of his beautiful foxes.

I also took better quality pictures of myself and one of our own foxes, Vixey (arctic fox) Some of the Red fox kits are already born (but only a few) and all of the other Vulpes Vulpes kits will point their little noses in our world in the next 2, maximum 3 weeks (but I'd go for 2 weeks).

As for the Alopex Lagopus (arctic fox), Vixey, if everything turns out well, will have her babies in about 2 months. Arctic foxes are always a bit 'late' compared to other fox specie, due to the fact that they usually live in the northern regions of our planet, and if they would've gave birth at the same time as the red foxes, the kits would die of cold.

We're working on opening a bigger facility right now, and start making educational activities with our foxes, as well as small TV appearances. Let's keep our fingers crossed for what might happen this spring/summer 2013!

Without further chit-chatting, here are the pictures...

I will actually get a Champagne fox kit from my friend this spring/summer 2013. It's the extra pale, pink/yellow fox with blue eyes seen in some of the pictures above and below. I simply cannot wait! It's my dream fox color.

I'll keep this updated when I get my baby, and when of course, the other babies will be born.

The other fox in the picture, the one with the color that'd be called ''tuxedo'' for a cat, is called a Platinum fox.

The chocolate brown ones are called Cinnamon foxes; some of them have beautiful pale green eyes!

And of course, Vixey and I. I have some other pictures in my folders, just feeling too tired to publish them all right now. I have some of the other foxies too.

Hope you will enjoy the pictures! Have a good night -- or should I say, morning.

Just curious.... why are some of them are photoshopped? What do the original photos look like?

Some are almost sheltie-like in their heads. I've always worried that one of my shelties would get loose here and be shot by a farmer thinking it was a fox. Here's a question for you. Know how dogs, to some people anyway, have a doggy smell(I can't smell it myself), do foxes have a certain smell also? The chocolate coloured fox is very pretty.
