We'll see! Maybe he'll be lucky and get adopted before we go get him.

woohoo Prin ! Hope it works out. I'm sure Boo and Jemma will like him, older dogs are very well like by other dogs.

I am sure many people here would take him if they could,I know I would, to give him a wonderful rest of his life and he would never again be abandonned.
I think part of the problem might be the healthproblems an older dog would probably get,a lot of money for vet-care etc...maybe that's one of the reasons the owners so cruelly are dumping him:sad:
I hope this potential new owner works out for Zack

I personally don't find that an older dog cost more in vet care than a younger dog. If I may say so,the younger they are,the more trouble they get into and that can lead to emergency trips to the vet. And with an older dog, you don't have to worry about them getting hip displesia and stuff like that. It happens when they're younger. What people are afraid of ( that's what I've been told many times with some of my fosters) is that they feel they won't get the dog for long. They don't want to get attach to a dog that has 2-3-4 years to live. But the same can happen to a younger dog.

Frenchy,I agree with you,it was just a thought..as to why many older dogs don't get adopted:sad:
To me age would not matter, the satisfaction of giving an animal a second chance, would more than make up for a potential early loss.
for Zak.

It is very hard Frenchy Charie and Cashew were in foster for 6 months before they were adopted. I think that boxers are a popular dog, but not as popular as Goldens so our "fan base" is smaller, and that makes for less senior boxer people out there. Usually I end up keeping them , LOL. But I have my hands full right now, and a broken leg to top that off!
