cat had a colectomy - Answered by Dr. Van Lienden

HI

First of all, I would like to congratulate you for your wonderfull site, that helps many owners in stress like myself.

After years of emotional pain, my vets and I decided to perform a total colectomy on may cat : Tomás (is name is portuguese because I live in Portugal).
There were initial problems: my cat is 4 years old but he is FIV positivo (cats aids), and that increases the risk of surgery. He had his Total colectomy on august 26, and till today, 24 october, he has constant diarrhea and can´t controle it. He drives me crazy at this point because he leaves diarrhea everywhere... I love him very much but i´m starting to question till when ?? When can I expect a "normal and cleaner cat" ?

Thank so much for your web site and your consideration
