Freyja, where are you located at?? the organization that I'm with Dogs Deserve Better they have people that can help you get your dog trained and offer other help too, like taking her for a walk, etc.

Please visit this site and see if there is an area rep by you, if not then let me know and I will find out who's closest to you and can help you.

Please don't take her back, there is help out there for you and Lindy.

Don't give up on her now, you did so much for her.

I am in Alberta, Canada. I visited your site. This is good work you are doing. Lindy looks a lot like the dog on the top right hand corner of the main page. Except her ears are more "shepherdy".
I have spoken to the trainer that Catt recommended. I am trying really hard to come to the right decision for everyone involved, Lindy, myself and my kids.

THANK YOU for not taking her today you won't regret it!

She's a puppy still and needs a lot of guidance for sure, once you get some help and things settle in, it will be so much easier.

Again, stress the socializing with another dog.

EDITED TO ADD:
Daisy thats wonderful assistance I hope you contact them Freyja
woo hoo!

See what 'women' can do (giggles sorry guys)

Yeah Luba, I've given her the name & number of the lady who is doing Brick's classes, and she's called her! I know she will be able to help!!

We are going to get together sometime soon and I will see what I can do to help!! There are several parks in Calgary, many off leash ones - we are a VERY lucky city!!! We should take the dogs for a walk together one day!!!

Brick isn't much of a "player" unless it involves his ball, but he will play and be sociable if there are no toys around!! BALL & WATER....the two things Brick lives for!!! LOL (and his Mommy and Daddy of course!!)

Oh Catt that would be fantastic

I think all Freyja needs is some support here and guidance. So Brick may have a new g/f.....hmmmm!

I'll have to tell Sadie, you know that right!!

Smile Life

No one said any of this was easy!

Freyja this will be one of those times when things get tough before getting easy. You're doing a smashing job. If you've enough patience to wait for babies to be born and deal with "Women in LABOR" ,,,heck you have what it takes to get this dog adjusted to your family. Of course it is sooo much trial and error, work, persistance, but you know what,, you're a smart girl, you hold life in your hands all the time. You can do this. To some people a dogs life is not so important but I'm positive you could tell us a thing or two about family and responsability!

I would never want to guilt you into keeping a dog that you dont think would fit into your life. That's bad for all of you! But, you have done such a good job with him,,,you will have that first night when your little guy is sleeping at your feet, late at night,, or early afternoon, and when you see yourself in that moment, all will be right! Thank God for every single person like you, who tries.........

By the way, what is an African snail? sounds huge!,LOL.

I would love Christian too, did anyone adopt him yet? Is he neutrered?
Laurie
xox Keep on keepin' on,,,

I think Christian's new forever home has been found with another little doxie.
I'll keep you posted, wish him luck. Ahh Catt AND Laurie M I'm sorry

Heidi, he's been over to play and for me to evaluate hence where we could place him. Right now he's still with his current family.

If either of you are interested in Dachshunds www.wienerdogrescue.com
They are always rescuing dogs from horrible situations, including mills. A wonderful organization.

Update

Sorry for being such a freakazoid.
I called the Humane Society today, they gave me a name of a lady who works with their dogs "behaviour specialist". I spoke to her for a while. Also, I have a trainer coming tomorrow. Same one as Catt suggested.
Just thought you might want to know.

Freija, that's good news, one day you might wonder, like me an Vinnie, how you could ever think of giving up on him. With time, patience and lots of love I'm sure he'll be ok.It would be so sad for him,to once again end up in the shelter.....oh,if dogs could only talk
