Post Has anyone used Trail Runners dog training?

They are located in SK and I was thinking about taking my dog there during shutdown. Has anyone ever used them? I would like to get more information besides the information they can filter and post on their website as they see fit. Alternatively, can anyone reccomend a solid dog training in Alberta? I would be looking to drop her off and pick her up at a later date. Thanks in advance!

trailrunners

I took my dog and they use static collars so if you have an aggressive dog i would not recommend it because they do not use any other form of correction. They say its positive reinforcement but static collars are not positive they are negative as my vet says and it has made my dog worse that will be the last $2000. I spend on training like that. Try bark busters I hear better reviews about them wish I would have went there instead.

I wouldn't use them either...any trainer who can't tell you in their website what methods they use, I would avoid. The Dogs In Canada website is pretty good for info by province. The Canadian Association for Pet Dog Trainers, I think lists trainers by province as well.

I don't have any experience with a drop off for training/pick up trained dog type of place, but I think that having someone else train your dog, instead of teaching you to work with your dog, might be a less effective way of training. However, I have no experience with it. I just think that I would prefer to be involved in the training of my dog, and also be able to monitor, etc, what was going on.
