Talking Bad Squirrel

Well she's not really bad, that umbrella is going in the garbage in the spring, obviously
We left it out so I'd get some protection for Baileys cuddle/treat time and now it will keep this little Squirrel nice and cozy.
It's soo funny to watch her,she rolls a strip up and takes it home.

is she ever pretty I love her color, poor squirrels don't stand much of a chance here at our place but they are still brave enough to come to the bird feeders even when the dogs are out

Canvas: the finest in home decorating!

She's gonna be one snug squirrel this winter! You're such a good sport for letting her dismantle your umbrella.

Aw what an industrious little one! I threw my mangled one out... maybe I should have left it out back by the feeders with a 'free to good nest'/'some disassembly required' sign on it!

Only a true animal lover would stand and watch a squirrel tear their umbrella apart and take pictures.

it's ok,that one was going out anyway and she works sooo hard, rolls it up and takes off with it,they're smart little guys.
I think she is the mama of the 3 babies, one whom I showed with Vinnie.

Hopefully the canvas will cut the wind coming into her nest. Keep those babies warm.

I love those grey (or are they called brown?) squirrels, the have the most beautiful tails.

OMG bad little squirrel

A co-worker of mine goes to Goodwill salvation army and buys old clothes and she rips them up for the squirrels to use (it would be a good way to keep them off your umbrella)

Happycats, that's a good idea,no need to go to Goodwill though,I got plenty of old stuff
I'll put some out today, then she does not have to work so hard
Whenever we brush the cats, especially Vinnie,we leave the hair under the birdhouses and the birds pick it up for insulation, how's that for recycling!!

We do that, too, chico! A friend of mine has a golden and she saves the undercoat when she brushes the dogs. We put it in one of those heavy-wire suet feeders and the birds help themselves to the hair during the nesting season!

Hazel, great minds think alikewhy waste all that soft fur,the birds love it,

L4H,you give me too much credit,I am not all that nice, but I do love ALL animals, like most people on our Forum, unfortunately I cannot do much.

The 3 Squirrel-babies are a hoot to watch, they are just soo darn cute and growing like crazy,I was worried about them in the beginning, but their mom takes care of them and as long as they are here, they have water to drink(have a heated bird-bath)and lots of food.

chico how nice of you to supply this little family with some fabric to make a warm cozy nest. I also have a soft spot for squirrels and wish they all could be so lucky to find themselves in a welcoming neighborhood like yours.

shoot... iw as hoping they wouldnt have switched the product before you got to see it!!!

it was a helicopter and the 'details' of the product were how you could use it to scare off your squirrels. rather funny i thought considering the issues we ahve had with ours here. i thought it was a good excuse to get a toy helicopter anyway. LOL!!!

W4R yeah,I thought something was a little weird with that siteand we don't want to scare away the Squirrells,we kind of like them

Lukkas mom,it was not always a"friendly"neighborhood,an old grouchy lady(older than me!) across from me,asked me not to feed the Squirrels, they bothered herbut you know where that request went
She moved this summer, she also complained about MY leaves flying in to her backyard,oh well, she's gone

Chico I have 2 Blue Spruce on my front lawn..about 50 ft high...After 9 years I finally found the squirrels nest....They have an executive suite built up far in the spruce....its shaped like a rectangular box! honestly you would swear they dragged a box up! its perfectly hidden..you cannot see it from the exterior of the tree...you have to go underneath and look up at the top in a certain spot! my they are crafty! This thing is so big it could fit at least 20 squirrels!

I love them but they are always hiding peanuts in my grass!!

Winston, the 3 little babies and momma Squirrel, have a HUGE nest in one of Baileys owners big trees, they are feisty for sure
I don't care too much about our grass anymore,a few little holes do not matter, the Raccoons are worse, make bigger holes digging for grubs.

I've actually had peanuts taking root producing a little plant, with a handful of peanuts on the roots, maybe that's what the Squirrels plan on doingtheir own peanut-garden.

I'we watched a Squirrel, hide the peanut, with one of my crows watching and he would dig up the peanut as soon as the Squirrel disappeared
Crows love peanuts too..and I love my Crowsyeah,I know,I'm a little weird!!
