The Wild Dogs and Cats of Egypt
Someone had asked earlier, before I went to Egypt, about the wild dogs and cats there. Well I took some pics. As you can see, they're pretty friendly, they kind of belong to everyone.
Dogs This guy liked to pose for the camera (Aswan Dam - the 'dam dog'). Sleepy guy at The Unfinished Obelisk. Puppies! Before mommy came to feed them, we were having some pretty good playtime. The little brown female loved belly rubs. Mohab pets his first dog. This story saddened me. Someone threw some bread to this guy and the caretaker of the park happened to be walking by and shooed him away... with a broom. The poor guy ran like the devil was chasing him with his tail between his legs. Nose to nose. This guy came running full speed around the corner, encountered us, wagged his tail, and visited for a bit. More puppies. Mom and dad were sunning on rocks, the puppies ran into a den when we got close to them. This fellow looked to be about eight months old, was completely loveable, and liked to visit with everyone. He reminded me of Willow, I wanted to take him home.

Cats
This cutie was one of many on Kitchener's Island. I think this is the definition of 'cat lady'. I named this one Nefertiti, she had the look, she liked sharing our breakfast. This guy wanted breakfast too. We made many more friends, but couldn't take pics of everyone.

Byrd,great pics,thank's!
I always get weepy seeing these"wild"dogs and cats when we travel, thinking of my own spoiled kitties. Hubby keeps telling me,they know of no other life and are perfectly fine, but still... At least they don't have snow and freezing cold to live with.. The Camel-pic is amazing and your man is sooooo handsome

beautiful photos, byrd... but so sad. those poor, thin starving dogs  what on earth do they eat? wonder what their average lifespan is with all those litters and no vet care... at least they have nice weather pretty much all year round

jiorji: He wasn't sexay, he was happy, he just had eggs, bread, cheese, etc.
chico2: Thanks, I think he's pretty wonderful myself. Techno: People feed them, they go right up to tourists because they seem to know that we have bleeding hearts and will give them munchies.
