Quickasabiscuit I'm so sorry for your loss. I first found this site when my dog was sick and I received wonderful advice and support. And understanding as well when Joey died. I stayed on, knowing that I would not be able to go long without someone furry to love.

We now have a new puppy and the members here have been incredibly helpful to me. Like a slew of godparents for my little guy.

my dad offered to get us a new puppy but my family needs time to heal. We had her for 13 years from the time I was 7 and I'm almost 21. SHe was my grow up dog. She was she sweetest best dog ever, I don't think we could another dog as wonderful as she was.

Welcome to the Board! I'm so sorry it's under such sad circumstances. You'll all know when it's time and you are ready for a new dog to come in to your lives. Take time to grieve... it's a huge loss.

Red face It'll be ok one day

I am really sorry to hear about your loss. I've just recently went through the same situation with my grow up cat I had her from the time I was 6 until 23, she lived a long and happy life. It's hard, but a new furry member in the family will be welcomed and will help a great deal with the grieving!

Quickasabiscuit.

I am so sorry about your loss.

I also lost my sweet dog who was with me since my second year in college. She died 3 month ago and I know how you must feel. I know there is no words to heal your sorrow but I am sure she is healthy now and happily playing in the green meadows.

I would also like to say welcome to you, and I'm so sorry to hear of the loss of your dear dog. Our childhood pets hold a very unique and special place in our hearts.
Though of course no pet can ever replace the cherished one we lost.. when the time is right, another dog may come into your life to help you with the void.

Sorry to hear about your loss. This is a wonderfull place to come where people understand what you are going through. Last year we had to put down our 16 yr old family pet that we had since I was 12. There will be no other dog like her as she was unique with her own personality. Don't forget about the good times you had as they are memories you can cherish forever. Like you said you probably need time to heal before getting a new puppy as its easy to forget what its like to raise and train a puppy, but you will know when the time is right. I
