Beau Early morning call

I just have to share this with you all. At 05:30 Wednesday last I was woken by a splish splosh sound from within our house. As I was getting out of bed and walking towards the bedroom door I heard the thud of the toilet seat in the bathroom. When I got out of the bedroom onto the landing I was met by Beau our male GSD leaving the bathroom fully refreshed from drinking out of the toilet bowl I was quite shocked by this activity on his part but later found the reason to be an empty water bowl downstairs and then realised that I had forgotten to make sure it was full the night before. He is a dog who can open doors and I suppose it goes to show that he is a dog who having spent some time on the streets has learnt how to survive bless him

Beau is a gorgeous fellow. And yes resourceful. My girl Shadow will drink from the bowl now and then, but not often. For that reason I have to be very careful to always close the lid after cleaning to make sure it's well rinsed and flushed before she decides to visit it again. A whole new twist on potty mouth huh!

The seat and lid were down and as it is a quite modern very flush fitting ie no lip overhanging it is a marvel that he managed to get his big nose under to lift the thing up to get his big head under it lol. Our old girl Gypsey has never as far as we know done this.(pic below of her). This guy was picked up as a stray on the streets of a city his owners were traced by the dog warden who got him and they said they no longer wanted him so he was handed over to a rescue centre where we got him from. As we live in a more country location he now has a better life and has been with us just under two years and settled well. Still pulls like hell first thing in the morning on the lead but after his favourite a game of ball fetch where he will run and run he will when tired walk a lot better. Off lead he is fine with recall and never looses site of us. It sure is a learning curve and like this incident we are still finding things out about the guy. Very soft natured big fellow he is.

Who said dogs weren't smart? Both Beau and Gypsey are absolutely stunning. They look like they make a great match together.

As both our dogs are rescue you could say we are doing our bit for recycling here lol. We found Gypsey at 2yrs of age about to go to a rescue centre because the family that had her said with 3 under school age kids they could not cope and a friend of mine who knew them introduced us and the rest is history. She will be 12 in December and her running days are limited she will slowly chunter off to fetch a ball a couple of times but just loves to lay on the grass and roll ontop of the ball under her shoulder blades kicking her legs and wriggling around. It is her own type of physio therapy for her acheing joints. She can walk for a few miles and as you can see has no grey yet.Thank you for the kind comments.
