Dog needs cataract surgery in Toronto

Hey everyone,

I wish my first posting on this site was on a more positive note but alas...

Annie my 11 year old female Jack Russell has cataracts. The onset has been very rapid. She has had a litany of tests at the vet which eliminated any underlying causality. She 'just' has catarcts. They are apparently in the early stages which is a positive. I am interested in any recommendations (if that adheres to the forum rules), aside from that perhaps any good experiences with a particular veterinary opthamologist. Additionally price is unfortunately an issue. Although I am loathe to 'shop around' with my dogs eyes cost is a consideration.

Any suggestions would be most appreciated.

Thanks guys,
Dorian

Antioxidant therapy might help. There have been good things written about carnosine eye drops. The drops can be hard to find, but I tried Brite Eyes III(?) Or is it II(?) For my girl (whatever the current LEF product is). She didn't have cataracts, but failing eyes, and they seemed to help a little.
