Beautiful Senior Boxer pair

BRQ recently received this letter from the owner of 2 adorable senior girls. Please open your hearts and consider adopting them. Senior dogs are no trouble at all - they just need love, food and more love. Seniors are low maintenance, already trained, mellow and most importantly - they deserve to be loved. We will all be old one day - we should treat them with the respect and compassion that we would like to be treated with ourselves.

WHY ADOPT A SENIOR??? CLICK HERE http://www.boxerrescuequebec.com/adoptasenior.cfm !!

If you are interested in Penelope and Josephine, please contact info@boxerrescuequebec.com or fill out our online application at http://www.boxerescuequebec.com/apply.cfm

Hi, I have an unfortunate story about the two nicest boxers you've ever met. My brother bought each when they where puppies, first Joséphine, now 9, and then Pénéloppe, now 8. He had to give them up because his daughter is allergic. He found this out a year ago, this is where I come in. I adopted them because I knew how hard it was for my brother to bring to the vet for the final visit( he postponed it every month for a year). I was finaly in a situation that I could take them, but now it is my turn to look for a family for them. I am moving and cannot bring them where I'm going. They are both very clean, very obedient and listen to their families very well. Jo has some arthritis in the hind legs but never whines about it. She can't walk for an hour a day anymore but she gets that extra jump in her step every time we go to the dog park. Peneloppe has a bad ligament in her back right leg, but I swear to you, you would never know unless I told u. She never whines about it and she runs and jumps without a problem, just not as fast and as high as she did in the old days. Jo is fawn and Peneloppe is white. These two girls need a home soon and they deserve one. Thank you...

Sincerely,

Alexandre

I wish i could have all the homeless Rotties and Boxers in Canada!
Every time it gets posted that Boxers are looking for homes, my heart breaks ( as it does for all dogs and cats, but Boxers and Rotties have a very special place in my heart)
I hope someone with the space and time comes along, and gives those beauties the home they deserve!!!!

Their ages are actually 8 and 9 years old!! The owner was mistaken since he was not the original owner! So they are just youngins'

God if I had enough room for TWO more boxers (already have 1) I would take them in a second. We currently only have room for 1 more dog

And a lot of our boxers do not make it to our website if we already have approved homes for them. They just go into foster care for the time it takes to get vetted and get to know them - and then off to their forever home. So if you'd ever like to adopt and don't see a suitable boxer on our website, it's best to fill out the application in case we get a good match.

How easy/hard is it to transport them to Alberta??? Is that hard on the animals or do they adjust fairly well? I know it's been done in the past, but I was just curious!! Is there extra fees for transportation?

(reason I'm asking is that hubby and I are seriously considering adopting another dog, and we'd both LOVE a boxer! Not too many in the Alberta rescue, but I keep checking in hopes there is one!!!)

No updates yet It sometimes takes months and months before seniors get adopted - especially a pair of them!!! I hope their comes along soon though...

We have flown boxers to their forever homes before - it is the adopter's expense. We only fly dogs who can handle the trip - if he/she's high strung or nervous we won't do that to them. Most dogs are fine to fly. Weather is a factor - they cannot fly in very hot or cold temperatures.

Or if you wanted to take a roadtrip and see some of Canada....

I was excited that maybe it was good news for the beauties.

Ithink of them alot, and ask alot of people who are looking for a boxer to consider them. But older doggies are for some reason less desirable If I thought that way I would never had been so blessed as to share the last year with Puppy!

Keeping my fingers crossed for these lovely ladies.

These two are AMAZING dogs - they are so funny and affectionate. They still have good energy and love to play. I really hope they find their angel soon. Thanks for your support guys..

OCTOBER 13, 2006: BRQ is sad to report that our sweet rescue girl Penelope passed away this week. Thanks so much to her foster parents Shamali & Guarav for taking her & her best friend Josephine into their home recently, & showering her with all the love & attention she truly deserved, even if it was only for a short while. Her best friend Josephine is now available to a loving home as an only dog, but she would love to become part of a family who has another dog already. So please!!! Josephine now needs your help more than ever, as she finds herself an only dog after having spent her whole life with her best bud, Penelope. She has been in rescue almost 3 months already. If you can open your heart & home to this wonderful girl, please apply here.

   Rest in Peace sweet Penelope
