Swelling in face
My 8 year old black cat developed sudden swelling in the left side of his face. There are no injuries. he doesn't seem to be bothered by it. He was fine yesterday morning but i noticed last night it was swollen. I was wondering how much would the vet bills cost to bring him in?

Welcome, Snickersmommy!
Office fees vary from clinic to clinic, and depending on what tests (if any) are done, the cost for a visit is hard to predict. But if you call the vet, you should be able to get the cost of the initial vet visit; and while you're there, you can ask how much a test will cost if the vet suggests any. Same with meds--if he needs pills and they seem expensive, ask if there's a human equivalent and see if the vet will write you a prescription. Sometimes (not always) the meds will be the same as human meds and they can often be picked up cheaper at a human pharmacy than at the vet clinic. With luck, it'll be something simple and all you'll be out is the office call. But do call around--it's the best way to find out what to plan for.

Some vets will give a discount when you bring more than one pet in at time ,if your doesn't you could made some calls and see if there are any vets that do his . Poor kitty , is it able to eat OK ?

He seems to be OK, sleeping as usual, not sure about eating haven't been able to catch him doing it. But i will keep an eye on it tonight to see if he does. I went home at lunch to check on him. I think the swelling is down a little but not enough for me to cancel at the vet.

You check into the kitty mouth and see if there broken or infected tooth .

good on you for not cancelling! If the cat goes outdoors, it could also be a bug bite. Please let us know what the vet says.
Good luck!
