Lost Dog
My family and I were in Parry Sound this weekend on a relatives boat at Big
Sound Marina. We were out for a boat ride when our dog fell off of the boat. We were returning to the marina in Depot Harbour near the fish nets. We searched and searched but could not see her in the choppy waters. I am writing you in the hopes that you can help us to get her home. Her name is Lady and she is a sheltie and australian sheppard cross. She is about 25 lbs. She is black, tan, gray and brown. She has a small white spot on each ear. If anyone should find her please have them contact me as soon as possible. My number is 905.723.6834. I thank you for any assistance that you can give. Cory and the Spiers family Oshawa, ON |

Have you made posters and contacted all the shelters? Also, without sounding morbid -- but it has to be asked -- are you sure your dog made it to shore? One last question, do you have a picture?

Yes of course we have contacted the shelters. We do not know if she made it to shore, I can only hope. I tried to attach a photo, but as this is a new site for me I was not successful, but I will try to attach one to this response. If you don't recieve the photo then I am doing something wrong so please let me know. C

I posted Lady's picture along with your first post in the Parry Sound forum. A person responded saying

It wouldn't hurt to contact the Canadian Coast Guard. They can put out a notice to shipping or even a security call over the VHF. The exact location giving longitude and latitude would be helpful as well as a name of an island or piece of land so that neighbouring traffic can keep a lookout. Someone may have found her by now.
I am a boater and sail on a 30 foot sailboat with my 2 dogs. Contacting the local Parry Sound OPP would be helpful. They have a marine service and could be of some assistance in keeping an eye out. I hope you find your little sweetie. She is probably on land somewhere or with someone. Was there land close by? Keep us posted. Lola |
