Manx Kittens

Hi I've been searching far and wide for a manx kitten. There does not seems to be any registered breeders in canada. However I don't care if the kitten is registered or even a mixed breed would be fine. It seems there are lots of posts for adult manx cats but have been unable to find any breeders in and around southern Ontario. Any help would be great.

Stan.

Also try Toronto Cat Rescue. http://www.torontocatrescue.ca/store/index.asp
Have you checked the shelters in your area? Ask your vet. They may know of some rescues that deal with Manx. You won't find a reputable breeder with mixed breed Manx.

I have had two Manx cats - one full Manx and one a ManxX. Bones, our first Manx came from the Winnipeg (Mb) SPCA and Shadow, my current ManxX is from the Nanaimo (BC) SPCA. Both are rumpy (no tail). Maybe try phoning the shelters - some of the shelters will put your name on a waiting list..
Good luck!

When my last Manx died in 2004, I too couldn't find a registered Manx, so I went to my second breed of choice, Devon Rex. They're more active but not as chatty as my Manx were. The Canadian Cat Assoc. does not have any Manx breeders listed. http://www.cca-afc.com/classified/index.php?

I did see some black unregistered kittens around Christmas time on www.kijiji.ca and there are some Manx rescues on http://www.petfinder.com in Toronto and area.

Good luck!

The phone number at this site is a 905 area code so it is in S. Ont. You are on your own for checking out credibility.

Thanks for all your replies. Mystictails is the only registered breeder That I know of in canada but they have no males at this time which means no breading.

Thanks Stan.

Manx Kittens

Stan,
Kitten season is coming up, have patience, it took me awhile to find my kitten, now 9 months. I was lucky to find a very rare chocolate rumpy with white boots. I traveled to the interior of BC to get her. Hoping to breed her soon. There is a lady in Sask that breeds Pixie Bobs, if your interested in that option. A little closer to you also.

Shelters and Rescues!

Hi,

If you really want a breed cat, or one that is not registered, I would also suggest calling around in shelters and cat rescue organisations, sometimes you can find breed cats there also. The waiting list is also a good idea.
There are many cats out there just waiting for a loving home and a second chance at love! Take your time, and I'm sure one will come up that you can adopt and give a new loving life to!
